Gazebo Gator

To gator or not to gator – that is the question.

A bed and breakfast is where you go to escape the daily grind.  As our motto for couples  says – the place for “triple R trips” – quick getaways where you can recharge, relax and reconnect.

So the question is: should this type of getaway include nocturnal visits from nine foot alligators? Does that mean our motto should be expanded to “3 Rs and a G”?  Or to put it another way:  when you and yours make plans to share a bottle of wine in a quaint Gazebo overlooking a  moonlit lake, should you include the possibility of a third party in those plans?

Florida's Natural Visitor Center Review (the Grove House)

Harold and I are on a mission to visit all the area attractions.  We've lived in Lake Wales for seven  years now and have just never gotten to Florida's Natural Visitor Center.  Of course, this
is from someone who was almost 40 years old before I made it to the observation deck of the Empire State building.  Doesn't sound like a big deal until you realize I grew up 40 minutes by train away from NYC and used to spend weekends there like it was my backyard from the time I was 14 years old  (Greenwich Village was an absolute  Mecca for teenagers in the 60's!

Winter!!!!

Winter has truly come to Lake Wales Florida!  Our courtyard fountain was actually frozen over!Perhaps a slight exageration, but the middle tier was definetly covered with a coating of ice.  Really pretty, with the sun glinting on it and of course completely gone by mid afternoon.

Already today the temp is back up in the high 60s.  Beautiful weather for walking the lake path or just browsing downtown.
